Compact tractors - LANTRA Integrated Training and Assessment
Course content:
- Identify the risks associated with this type of tractor/implement
- Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Identify the controls and components
- Understand the meaning of all instruments
- Carry out daily checks as indicted in the operators’ manual
- Carry out pre-start checks
- Attach a mounted implement and perform basic manoeuvres
- Attach a power shaft (PTO) correctly
- Understand the legal requirements involving PTO guards
- Attach and manoeuvre a trailed implement or trailer using the available hitch
- Understand the legal requirements when travelling on the public road
Duration of course: Between 1 and 2 days depending upon trainee’s experience
Price:
Training + VAT - £75 per day
Lantra Assessment + VAT - £25
Maximum number of trainees per course: Four
Personal Protective Equipment for Tractor Driving Courses:
- Close fitting overalls
- Steel toe capped shoes/boots
- Light industrial gloves
4. Ride on and pedestrian operated mowers - LANTRA Integrated Training and Assessment
Course objectives:
- How to avoid accidents and carry out an on-site risk assessment
- About the relevant legal requirements and how to meet them
- How to adjust the cutting mechanisms to give the required standard of cut
- The importance of daily checks and routine maintenance
- To identify faults and record or report
- To operate the mower safely and efficiently
Each course for each type of mower, ie. Ride on or pedestrian cylinder, rotary or flail, covers the following points:
- Identify the risks associated with this type of machine
- Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Carry out daily checks as indicated in the operators’ manual
- Carry out pre-start checks
- Identify and report any faults
- Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard
- Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner
- Perform after-use maintenance
- Understand requirements for traveling on the public road
- Be able to load and transport the machine (if appropriate)
Duration of course: Between 1 and 2 days depending upon trainee’s experience
